Solid Fuel AGA, Multi Fuel Rayburn & Multi Fuel Stoves


All Multi-fuel appliances including cookers, boilers and stoves serviced.

Solid Fuel AGA:
You can carry out your own routine maintenance:

  • Remove the ashes once in 24 hours before riddling
  • Rotate the inner barrel vigorously in both directions every month
  • Quarter turn the inner barrel every month
  • Clean the machined edges on the ashpit door and front plate with a wire brush
  • Checking fire door seals
  • Cleaning airways
  • Cleaning initial section of flue pipe every 6 months

Qualified and registered engineers can carry out the annual service:

  • Removing the inner barrel and simmer plate to clean and check the condition of the internal parts of the cooker.
  • Performing a safety check on the Chimney Flue and Rope Seals
  • Fitting of any new parts and the cooker relit.

Chimney sweeping should be done annually by a HETAS registered chimney sweep.

Solid Fuel Rayburn:
You can carry out your own routine maintenance:

  • Clean the bottom of the flue by removing the flue chamber door every week
  • Remove hot plate plug and clear the airway every week
  • Remove clinker and check fire bars/grate and carrier every week
  • Inspect flue box every 3 months

Qualified and registered engineers can carry out the annual service:

  • Removing the grate, fire bars and carrier.
  • Replacing parts as necessary.
  • Check and replace fire bricks as necessary.
  • Removing the hot plate, checking the rope seals and cleaning the flue ways.
  • Check and clean the flue box and lower part of flue pipe.
  • Relight and test the cooker and flue.

Chimney sweeping should be done annually by a HETAS registered chimney sweep.

Multi-fuel Stoves:
Routine maintenance can be done by yourself, including:

  • Check rope seals
  • Check fire bricks, grate and carrier
  • Clean out the fire chamber.

Qualified and registered engineers can carry out the annual service:

  • Remove and check the grate, side bricks and throat plate.
  • Clean and check the fire chamber.
  • Replace rope seals and glass as necessary.
  • Test the chimney flue.
  • Respray the stove leaving it looking like new.

Chimney sweeping should be done annually by a HETAS registered chimney sweep.
